This well-connected commuter area can be easily reached via the A127 between London and Southend-on-Sea, or by the A130 from Chelmsford.

If you’re travelling by train, The Hawk is just a two minute walk from Battlesbridge train station, on the Crouch Valley Line.

Battlesbridge offers a number of attractions, including the Motorcycle Museum and the Penny Arcade Museum.

In addition to our magnificent interiors, we also offer a fabulous outdoor dining space that’s perfect for alfresco dining all year round. 

Keeping Busy in Battlesbridge

The village is also home to a number of antique centres, one of which is located in a former mill. Once you’ve finished searching for treasures and trinkets, pop into The Hawk for a delicious meal or a refreshing pint!

Just a stone’s throw in Wickford, you’ll find the Wick Country Park, which consists of 50 acres of land complete with over 2km of easy access trails taking in lakes, ponds, World War II pillboxes, and woodland paintings.

Other attractions in the area include the Imperial Bird of Prey Academy, Nevendon Manor, Tropical Wings Zoo, Hylands Park, Marsh Farm, and RHS Garden Hyde Hall.
